    Natural gluten-free dessert snack company, Hail Merry LLC, wins the National Restaurant Association’s (NRA) 2013 FABI Award for Innovation. An independent panel of experts selected Hail Merry’s Chocolate Miracle TartÔ Mini for their taste and high marketability to satisfy consumer lifestyle trends, including gluten free, vegan and raw diets with perfect portion control.  According to the NRA, gluten-free cuisine will continue to be the hottest trend in restaurant menus for 2013.  A recent survey by consumer research firm, NPD, reports 30% of Americans are interested in avoiding or cutting down on gluten in their diet.  In addition, with the number of diagnosed Celiac cases rising beyond three million in just America alone, the need for certified, cross-contamination free menus is a paramount necessity for the industry, and one that is proving to be a profitable niche.

    About the Product

    Hail Merry’s Miracle Tart ™ - Chocolate Minis (.81 oz each) are unique because they are filled with a heavenly chocolate ganache made with organic extra virgin coconut oil (instead of heavy cream), Fair Trade dark cocoa, and sweetened with organic maple syrup. The crust is made with natural raw almond flour and a hint of sea salt. The product is never baked and is free of any grains, soy, corn and dairy.   These mini tarts are also great for customers who are looking for portion control.

    The Vegetarian Health Institute is a wonderful resource with great nutrition lessons and health secrets from renowned experts in the field featuring Michael Klaper M.D. (author of the book Vegetarian Nutrition and Director of the Institute of Nutrition Education and Research), Vesanto Melinda M.D. (co-authored nine books, including Becoming Vegetarian, Raising Vegetarian Children, Becoming Vegetarian, Becoming Raw, and Raw Food Revolution Die), and Nomi Shannon (author of the Raw Gourmet) to name just a few.  Be sure to check out their website to learn more and by voting you will receive the 10-day email course on Veghealth secrets and to receive access to their online articles.  When signing up, you will also receive a Vegetarian Nutrition guide.

    Hail Merry, makers of raw, vegan, gluten-free snacks, now, officially, formally, certifiably announce our latest, greatest addition to our line of Miracle Tarts. We give you….. The Chocolate Raw Almond Butter Miracle Tart! We’ve spent months deep in the recesses of the Hail Merry labs to create the perfect combination of raw almond butter and chocolate, delicately layered and set inside our raw almond flour crust… it’s the perfect match made in heaven!  Raw almond butter and dark chocolate so decadent and creamy you won’t believe its low glycemic loading due to the high fiber and perfect blend of raw healthy fats from the coconut oil and carbs from the maple syrup.  Richly layered with a chocolate coconut oil ganache and creamy almond butter center… This is AWESOME!

    How awesome? Well… you might have heard by now, but it just won the "Best New Vegan Product" at the Natural Products Expo 2011, awarded by VegNews Magazine!  This award follows on the heels of the second place “Best of Show” in the raw food category we got at last year’s convention for our Grawnola!

    Best New Vegan Product, Chocolate Raw Almond Butter Miracle Tart

    There were only 12 products honored with the “Best of Show” award, and Hail Merry was the ONLY raw selection! The Chocolate Raw Almond Butter Miracle Tart will be featured in the May/June issue of VegNews with the other winners.

    “Hail Merry is a leader in the natural food industry and continues to develop high-quality vegetarian products. We are pleased to honor [their] accomplishments with a VegNews ‘Best of Show’ award,” said VegNews publisher, Joseph Connelly. 

    So, let’s get down to it… how did this happen and what was the thought process behind this one. For starters, Coconut oil is what makes Merry’s Miracle tart taste so rich. Nature made coconut oil with medium chain fatty acids that quickly burn as energy and contain ZERO cholesterol and to top it off, cocoa provides the perfect mood lift.

    This tart specifically was designed by Alison, our culinologist. We all had many tastings of the raw almond butter blend from Barney Butter who custom blended our almond butter for us before we locked down the perfect texture.  We also wanted to keep our diabetics happy by introducing a tart with even more protein and never too sweet tasting with loads of fiber.

    If you dig the combination of chocolate and nut butter (I’m looking at you, chocolate peanut butter cup fans…) this is going to make your day. Heck, it’s made our year! Give our Chocolate Raw Almond Butter Miracle Tart a try!

  • Natural Products Expo West Slideshow!

    Best New Vegan product... has a great ring to it, doesn't it? Hail Merry took one of our greatest accomplishments to date. There were over 400 entries and Hail Merry's Chocolate Almond Butter Miracle Tart was the only raw product chosen for this award out of numerous raw entries.  Needless to say... it was a good year. =)
